Alessia Zuccarello was born in 1975. She studied and achieved degree status in art at the Turin Academy of Beaux Arts up until 1998, and therefore her background is mainly in classical art, especially in drawing and painting in oils. However, after completing her studies, she made the choice to concentrate her efforts on video-art and has been focussing on this field ever since. At present, she is principally working on her own project, UNHADONNA, in which she studies and documents the human body-taking notice of all of the sensations, mutations and expressions that it displays -
and translates this into her own artistic medium. Indeed, in her videos, one can see how she elaborates tiny fragments of day-to-day habits and ordinary life, and gives them new meanings and explanations. To meet her and view her work, visit "Quotidiana", in Padova from the 13th december 2002.
